Rah Dakota
Rah is a Filipina, Spanish and Irish cinematographer, editor, and filmmaker with over a decade of experience in documentary, short-form, and experimental film. Her work has screened at major festivals, including St Kilda Film Festival (2025), where she won for Motherhood in the Colony, which Rah shot and edited. At Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC) 2025, Rah was awarded Best Short-Form Documentary as editor of MAHIKA KAI. She also edited NGURRAWAANA, which premiered at Aesthetica Short Film Festival, won the Monster Children Short Film Awards, and was featured in Flickerfest 2024. Rah’s practice spans both screen and gallery contexts, with work commissioned by ACMI for the Goddess exhibition, and a background in advertising, where she also won multiple awards. She’s collaborated with leading agencies, nonprofits, and cultural institutions, as well as clients like Disney, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW. Known for her strong visual instinct, adaptability on set, and collaborative style, Rah brings a thoughtful and cinematic approach to every project, with a deep love for storytelling in all forms.
