Kieran Satour

Kieran Mpetyane Satour is a Baloch (Afghan), Gurindji/Malngin, Pertame Arrernte and Worimi man. He is a Co-Founder and Creative Director at GARUWA, a wholly Aboriginal-ownedm intercultural agency dedicated to the practice of intergenerational storytelling for purpose and impact.

Throughout his career, he has worked tirelessly for the advancement of First Nations people across film, media, business and education. He has a passion for sharing First Nations culture and stories in the right way, with community at the fore.

In 2023, Kieran’s documentary short Through the Fire won a Cannes Bronze Lion and was part of We Are Warriors, a series of interviews attached to an Indigenous social enterprise showcasing prominent First Peoples and empowering youth.

Kieran is the Producer of the documentary series Descendants which has received development support from Screen Australia. He is leading the development of the feature-length film Dreaming Country awarded the Art & Impact Fellowship with DocSociety. He is also directing and producing the documentary series Facing the Numbers which explores First Nations experiences with the justice system.
