Genevieve Grieves is a proud Worimi woman and respected artist, educator, field builder, film director and oral historian. She is recognised as a leader of community engagement and decolonising methodologies in Australia.
As the Co-Creator and Creative Director of storytelling agency, GARUWA, Genevieve champions projects that place First Nations knowledge and culture at the core. Central to her practice is intercultural and intergenerational knowledge transmission, through which she has not only built bridges between disparate communities but also paved the way for future generations of First Nations storytellers, developing initiatives like the First Nations Impact Lab, presented in collaboration with Doc Society.
Genevieve is profoundly committed to sharing stories for positive social change, which has led to numerous award-winning film and museum experiences including the First Peoples exhibition at Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre, Melbourne Museum, Lani’s Story, SBS and Power to Country, ABC.
