Carriageworks' First Nations Garden

This collaboration between the Carriageworks First Nations team and First Nations cultural landscape and design companies, JIWAH and In View Studios was planted with Elders from Wyanga Aboriginal Aged Care and children from Redfern Jarjum College, cultivating strong connections in sessions facilitated by by the inaugural Carriageworks First Nations Fellowship recipient Henrietta Baird (Kuku Yalandji/Yidinji).

The garden brings local plant species together, creating a space for people to gather to share knowledge through storytelling with a focus on the revival and regeneration of traditional language, song and dance of First Nations clan groups from across the Sydney/Warrane.

"A space where we can start to share knowledge, celebrate our culture and start to learn more about each other.”
